Unfortunately for Lamar, he and Crystal aren’t on the same page. When her delusions turn into a full-blown obsession Lamar regrets ever getting involved with someone he didn’t really know. Book Review This book hit you with a quick 1 -2 punch. Crystal's relationship with her "work husband" went beyond what most of us (or at least I think most of us) classify that person. My definition of a work husband is someone who brings meals, lifts box

Who Can You Trust: The Family Ain't S?!T Anthology by Octavia Grant My rating: 4 of 5 stars Description T he most important thing a person has is family. Family is supposed to provide unconditional love and support, but this anthology proves that some family members are only capable of starting drama. Who Can You Trust contains three stories: He Should’ve Known Better, Sleeping With My Cousin’s Grandmother, and Sleeping With My Aunt’s Husband. Each story is filled with taboo, salacious lies, betrayal, backstabbing, and tons of drama. Three jaw-dropping stories equal one amazing book. You’ll agree that family can be your worst enemy after reading about Dante and Candace, Antoine and Ms. Cat, along with the antics of Princess Ivy versus Aunt Queen. Isaiah had no idea that entertaining Zorelle would cause a major downfall in his life  Book Review This writer hits us with what she does best, a quick and dirty novella. I can always count on her to have my jaw on the floor with a handful of "Oh no, he/she didn't!" moments. This story was no different. While Isiah was performing the ultimate betrayal, his wife was not sitting back twiddling her thumbs. The betrayal hit hard as did the retribution from his wife. The characters and storyline were developed enough

Along Came a Savage

Along Came a Savage by Joe Awsum My rating: 5  of 5 stars This book started with a bang and ended with an explosion. I was all in from Chapter 1. TayTay a smart, resilient woman who grew up with a knowledge of the street life takes her college sweetheart and turns him into a multi-millionaire. He, in turn, betrays her and someone close to her sets her up to be destroyed. Enter, Severe, one Savage that was going to shake up TayTay's world and help her get back on top or does he?  The author definitely knows how to grab a reader's, or in my case a listener's, attention.  First, he pulls you in by introducing a savage in the streets, then a savage in the bedroom and to top it all off he brings in a Savage with the voiceover, E.E. Gates aka Mr. Gates. I was a goner between the writer's gritty and explicit storytelling and Gate's sexy baritone.  The story moved swiftly. The drama was intense.  The characters were developed and interesting. There wer
