Book 1: Tiana is unlucky in love and life it appears. After being used for the last time by her longtime boyfriend, she is forced to make the decision to move on from him. He does not make it easy by any stretch of the imagination. There is a lot of drama that comes with him STDs, physical altercations, stolen property, etc.
When she meets someone who might be able to help her move on from her turmoil, she is not prepared for the onslaught of emotions. With an outspoken mother and friends, Tiana attempts to navigate life as a single woman. If you are like me, you will be frustrated with the amount of disrespect our heroine tolerates and angry for those who violate her. Even when she thinks she has found a "real man" and does the unthinkable to him, his secret that will bring her harm as book two comes into play. Tiana experiences death, assault, love and more in the second installment of her story. This story did a good job of highlighting young reckless behavior i.e. the online hustle, fighting, drugs and how the lack of self-love can be detrimental to your mental and physical health. There were a few grammatical errors, but nothing to truly distract from the story. I think the author delivered an entertaining and well-written story in all its ratchet goodness.
